A Watertown Landmark Restored

The Globe building has been a central part of downtown Watertown for nearly a century. Built in the 1920s, it originally served as home to The Globe Store, a bustling retail destination that became a local icon for generations.

From Past to Present

After The Globe Store closed in 1973, the building briefly reopened as the Globe Mini Mall before remaining vacant for more than twenty years. In 2024, a dedicated redevelopment project began to restore and repurpose the property while preserving its historic charm.

A New Chapter

Today, the second floor houses eleven beautifully designed one bedroom apartments, while the first floor is home to the Jefferson and Lewis County BOCES Nursing Program. Together, these spaces bring new life, learning, and energy to downtown Watertown.

Honoring History, Building the Future

The revitalization of the Globe building represents more than just construction—it is a restoration of community pride. The design retains the building’s historic character while offering residents the latest in comfort and technology.
Globe Apartments stands as a lasting symbol of Watertown’s renewal, blending the city’s rich past with its bright future.
